About Mike O'Connor

Mike joined Chicago Partners in 2017 with over 10 years of experience providing comprehensive planning advice to individuals and foundations. Previously, he was Founder and President of O’Connor Wealth Management Group. Prior to finding his own firm, Mike was a Registered Investment Advisor with Woodbury Financial Services.

Mike implements a process called Values-Based Financial Planning. The seven-step process is designed to earn, build and maintain a mutual trust. The seven steps include:

1. Goals-Based Financial Planning
2. Retirement Planning
3. Estate Planning (Coordinated with Attorney)
4. Investment Planning (Portfolio Audit & Gap Analysis)
5. Insurance Planning (Audit - Cost-Benefit Analysis)
6. College Planning
7. Tax Planning (Coordinated with CPA)
 
Mike graduated from Indiana University in 1988 (BA from The Kelley School of Business). Mike holds his Series 7 and Series 65 security licenses. Mike, his wife, and four boys live in the western suburbs.
