John Lucas joined Chicago Partners in April of 2026 as a Managing Director. With more than 25 years of experience in the financial markets, John specializes in executing derivative trades on behalf of major institutional clients and hedge funds. He began his career as a broker at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, where he traded Eurodollars, Eurodollar options, and SOFR options, developing deep expertise in interest rate markets and macro-driven strategies.

In addition to his trading background, John has held advisory and business development roles across a range of financial and technology-focused firms. He has worked with Robosig, a software development company focused on automated cross-currency trading strategies, and with Navier, a data center management company focused on Bitcoin and digital asset mining infrastructure. Together, these experiences position him to deliver practical, well-rounded insight to clients operating across both traditional and emerging markets.

John lives with his wife Julie in Evanston, Il. He has three daughters, Ryann, Tate, and Shea. He enjoys golfing, biking, hiking, and going on walks with his dog, Wynne. He is also a member of the Lumberjacks & Jill’s, a group dedicated to restoring nature and connecting community.
